Aladdin Review

Aladdin movie Aladdin 2019 is a live remake of the original Disney cartoon movie back in 1992. Aladdin is known as a street rat in the movie. He meets Princes Jasmine and later falls in love with her as he weezels his way into the castle. Aladdin will stumble upon a lamp and will become best friends with the Genie in the lamp. As Aladdin and the genie start to become friends, they must soon embark on a dangerous mission to stop the evil sorcerer Jafar from overthrowing young  Jasmine’s kingdom.

The 1992 original version is a classic! Robin Williams played the voice of the genie. What a terrific job he did. He was very talented as we all know. Which makes it very big shoes for who ever plays the next genie. Well Will Smith won that roll in the live version of Aladdin.

I feel it was tougher for Will Smith as he played live not just the voice. Even with the big shoes to fill from Robin Williams, he did a hell of a job playing the roll of the genie. He added his own twist to the part as he always does. Overall he did a strong job playing the genie but I would have to give the thumbs up to Robin Williams, he was just amazing.

The live version of Aladdin had the same story line. Mena Massoud Played the role of Aladdin and did a good job at it, but Naomi Scott who played Princess Jasmine over powered his roll as she was completely amazing in her debut of her first major film role. After that performance she will definitely have the film makers lining up to have her star in their next movie. She brought a unique vibe to Princess Jasmine. As the movie goes along you see her grow and the powerful passion she brings to fulfilling the roll of Princess Jasmine. You will find that she  has an amazing voice. The part when she sings the new song in the movie Speechless, that will give you goose bumps with the passion she brings.

Overall I think everyone did a terrific job in making Aladdin live. If you liked the original Aladdin then you will definitely like this version as Will Smith stole the show. If Will Smith was a bust in the role then I wouldn’t recommend it, but he wasn’t so I give the Aladdin live version a thumbs up and must see movie of the summer.
